Blutnacht 2 – Die Rückkehr des Dämon - the Demon is back and this time its a gory affair ...

Blutnacht 2 – Die Rückkehr des Dämon AKA Blutnacht 2 - Return of the Demon ... (2002)

Director - Jochen Stephan

So if you thought you hadn't seen the last of the demon from the original Blutnacht, you are in for such a treat with this release Blutnacht 2 - Die Rückkehr des Dämon AKA Return of the Demon Jochen and the guys return 3 years later with another release that will blow your socks off....

This is actually really really really good such an improvement on the first you can tell with the underground success of the original classic Jochen stepped it up a level with this it shows as its a clear cut class above the rest in German Splatter and can tell with only 2 releases if your a splatter fan these are both in your collection, of course Jochen didn't receive awards and a grant for this release so don't expect amazing effects you still have a lovely underground feeling about it and if there wasn't it would be such an amazing sequel like it is today....

The movie again has a steller cast, perfect environment and locations for the movie for the Massacre from the returning demon, this one actually has some really impressive scenes and a lot better soundtrack this time round the black mass scenes were done perfectly gives you a eerie feeling to the whole movie ..

This time round as well there's fun sex scenes thrown in as well as the gore and a lot of people will probably not be interested but it adds to the movie really Jochen clearly has a massive heart and love for the industry as both of these would of been fun to make and it shows definitely they are not your average splatter movie he throws balls to the wall, what you get in Blutnacht 2 is so much for your money 80 minutes of gore, higher body count, overall better effects the 3 years clearly was a learning curve for the movie and a sequel of course was needed and it paid off ..

As well for a No Budget indie splatter movie it successfully throws in a lot of effective tension and a creepy atmosphere in places that gives the movie that edge on just another Indie flick you could say it was a throwback to the 80s classics with this kill count and tension it makes and the gore well it speaks for it self ..

Overall both Blutnacht and Blutnacht 2 are so ambitious and were made with love from Jochen, they fit perfectly in the German Splatter Genre and you can tell that they are films for the fans made by the fans because its the exact movie you would make if you had the chance as well, these show heart and if you don't believe me believe this guy .....

9.5/10 for gore lovers only .....
